Talk 1: Research Progress on Radar Resistance to Active/Passive Interference

Abstract:

This report highlights recent progress in radar anti-interference efforts by our research team in response to challenges posed by advanced active and passive interference devices. Advanced active interference devices provide precise, targeted energy injection capabilities with high-efficiency wideband suppression, coherent controllable deception, and diverse interference combinations. Passive interferences, such as corner reflectors, closely mimic real target shapes, severely impacting radar target detection. To address these issues, our team has enhanced radar transmitter flexibility and freedom, making it more difficult for adversaries to intercept radar signals and inject interference. We have also established high-dimensional separable spaces for target and interference energy, facilitating effective interference removal. Furthermore, we've developed techniques to extract differential features between genuine targets and passive interference. This report shares insights and key accomplishments in the field of anti-interference measures, with the aim of supporting the advancement of next-generation radar equipment.

Biography:

Jiadong Wang is an Associate Professor and a Master's Thesis Advisor at Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology. He has dedicated his career to research in radar SAR/ISAR imaging and radar anti-interference techniques. With leadership roles in multiple national-level projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation, he has published over ten high-impact papers as the first author or corresponding author. His work has appeared in prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing (TGRS) and IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems (TAES). Jiadong Wang has received the Outstanding Paper Award from the Radar Journal.
