Talk 4: Image Quality Enhancement for High-Resolution Spaceborne SAR with Azimuthal Multiple Angle Observation

Abstract:

The report analyzes the current research status and trends of high-resolution spaceborne SAR with azimuthal multiple angle observation on image processing and application technology. A new system and imaging model for spaceborne SAR with azimuthal multiple angle observation is introduced, mainly including the methods and technologies for SAR image enhancement processing and application. And the researches on speckle noise suppression, strong sidelobes suppression, super-resolution processing of typical targets, 3D imaging processing and moving target detection technology with multiple azimuth angle observation are discussed in detail using simulated and real SAR data. Finally, the research interests of high-resolution spaceborne SAR with azimuthal multiple angle observation is concluded.

Biography:

Chen Jie is a professor and Vice Dean with the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, BUAA, Beijing, China. His main research area covers novel high-resolution and wide-coverage synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system, spaceborne SAR data focusing and image quality enhancement, and remote sensing data intelligence processing. In recent years, he held over more than 20 research projects, granted by the NSFC, ‘863’ Program, ‘973’ Program etc. His scientific studies were applied in most of the Chinese SAR satellite programs. He has published more than 70 SCI-indexed journal papers and over 100 conference papers, and has been authorized over 30 patents.
